LS Electric (formerly LSIS) supplies a compact, cost-competitive component portfolio commonly specified in IEC 61439 low-voltage switchgear and panel assemblies. Key product families—Susol and Metasol moulded-case circuit breakers (MCCBs), MC contactors, MMS motor protection switches, and the iS7 variable-frequency-drive series—cover the breadth of requirements for main distribution boards (MDB/MDP), power control centers (PCC/PDC), motor control centers (MCC), power-factor-correction panels and VFD-integrated motor control panels. Susol/Metasol MCCBs provide frame ratings from small branch protection up to 2500 A with thermal-magnetic and electronic trip unit options, meeting IEC 60947-2 requirements. Short-circuit breaking capacities are published per frame and trip option; typical SCCR selection for IEC 61439 assemblies follows the manufacturer datasheet and IEC 61439-1/-2 type-test and verification rules (temperature-rise, short-circuit withstand, dielectric, mechanical operation). MC contactors and MMS motor protection switches are designed to IEC 60947-4-1 and IEC 60947-4-2 contexts for motor starting and protection. Contactors are available in fixed and plug-in styles for DIN-rail or panel mounting and are commonly combined with MMS electronic overload relays or thermal-magnetic motor protectors to obtain coordinated protection for motors up to the catalogued kW levels. For VFD-centered motor control, the iS7 series supports closed-loop/vector control modes, multiple communication options (Modbus, EtherNet/IP, Profinet available per model) and is intended for panel integration (typically installed IP20 inside switchgear compartments). When integrating iS7 drives into IEC 61439 panels, designers should follow IEC 61800-3 EMC requirements and provide appropriate line reactors, AC chokes, or EMC filters along with segregation and cooling to meet temperature-rise limits defined in IEC 61439-1. From a panel builder’s viewpoint, LS Electric components are suitable for both type-tested and build-to-order verification strategies under IEC 61439. Achieving required forms of separation (Form 1 through Form 4b) and ensuring busbar short-time withstand (Ik) and peak (Ipk) ratings requires correct frame selection, busbar system design, and use of draw-out or fixed mounting accessories. LS Electric parts integrate readily into assemblies alongside market alternatives such as Siemens SIVACON, Schneider MNS, and ABB Prisma Set, enabling mixed-vendor architectures where compatible mechanical and electrical interfaces exist. For hazardous-area or Ex applications, product selection must reference IEC 60079 and vendor-certified Ex options. Patrion’s engineering team configures LS Electric components into type-tested IEC 61439 panel assemblies (MDP, PCC, MCC, PFC, VFD panels, lighting distribution and bespoke switchboards) to comply with required thermal, dielectric, and short-circuit performance limits.
