Hager supplies a modular ecosystem for low-voltage IEC 61439 panel assemblies centered on the Univers N enclosure system and the h3+ moulded-case circuit breaker family. Univers N is engineered for commercial and building distribution applications (wall-mounted and floor-standing), and is commonly deployed in main distribution boards (MDB), metering panels, lighting distribution boards (LDB), automatic transfer switch (ATS) enclosures and fully custom-engineered switchboards. The platform supports classic IEC 61439 design approaches: type-tested assemblies and partially type-tested/verified designs per IEC 61439-1/2/3/6. Univers N offers configurable internal segregation (forms of separation from Form 1 up to Form 4b/4d arrangements depending on accessories), dedicated busbar compartments, CT/VT metering cubicles and IP protection options up to IP54/IP55 in selected configurations. Hager's h3+ MCCB range covers frames and adjustable trip units sized up to 1600 A and integrates with Hager MCBs, RCBOs and RCCBs for coordinated selective protection. When installed in a correctly rated Univers N assembly and with appropriate busbar dimensioning, h3+ devices enable panel short-circuit withstand (Icw) and peak fault current (Ipk) ratings commonly engineered at 50 kA/1 s and upwards—dependent on device breaking capacity and busbar design (panel builders often design for 50 kA to 100 kA prospective fault levels). Electrical switching and motor-control needs are completed by Hager contactors, motor-protection relays and modular auxiliary devices, all intended to be used within the larger framework of IEC 60947 product standards and verification practices. For building services and critical facility projects, Hager-based panels are integrated by panel builders and EPC contractors with formal verification: type test reports, routine tests (dielectric, temperature rise, and short-time withstand) and installation-specific verification per IEC 61439-1. Univers N competes with and complements other modular LV systems (e.g., SIVACON, MNS, Schneider Prisma) when designers require repeatable, maintainable distribution assemblies with straightforward segregation, metering cubicles, and ATS integration. Hager solutions are optimized for rapid panel assembly, DIN-rail accessory compatibility, and coordinated selective protection schemes in commercial distribution, tenant metering, lighting control and transfer switch applications.
