Hager Automatic Transfer Switch (ATS) Panel

Hager components integrated into IEC 61439 automatic transfer switch (ats) panel assemblies. Hager offers Univers N enclosure systems and h3+ moulded-case breakers for IEC 61439 commercial and building distribution panel assemblies.

The Hager Automatic Transfer Switch (ATS) Panel is an IEC 61439-compliant ATS assembly that integrates Hager distribution hardware—most notably the Univers N enclosure system and h3+ moulded-case circuit breakers—into motorized or static transfer switch configurations suitable for commercial buildings, data centers, hospitals and light industrial plants. Designed for rated currents up to 4000 A and operating voltages of 230/400 V AC, these panels support 2- and 3-source architectures (mains, generator, UPS) with configurable changeover logic and adjustable transfer/retransfer delays from 0.1 to 10 seconds. Typical short-circuit withstand capability depends on busbar sizing and component selection and is engineered to meet IEC 61439-1/2 type and routine test requirements (temperature rise, dielectric, and short-circuit verification), with common assemblies specified to 50–100 kA prospective fault current depending on configuration. Hager h3+ MCCBs provide thermal-magnetic and electronic trip options that allow selective coordination with upstream protection and generator control systems per IEC 60947 series requirements. For ATS function, Hager motorized changeover mechanisms and transfer relays (static or electromechanical) perform make-before-break or break-before-make operations as specified; panels can be configured to Form of Separation 3b/4b/4c per IEC 61439 to segregate sources, functional units and low-voltage control circuitry for safe maintenance and fault containment. Univers N enclosures supply modular mounting, IP31 to IP54 protection, internal partitioning, and busbar supports compatible with Hager accessories; when higher ingress or hazardous-area requirements exist, components and installation practices are adapted to IEC 60079 standards. Control and monitoring features include voltage/frequency/phase-sequence monitoring, synchronized transfer windows, load prioritization and shedding, remote changeover commands and local HMI. Integration with building management and generator controllers is achieved via dedicated control wiring and optional communication modules. In application, Hager ATS panels are chosen for building distribution projects where compact Univers N enclosures and high-performance h3+ breakers simplify coordination with upstream switchgear families such as Siemens SIVACON, ABB MNS or Schneider Prisma Set. Patrion engineers can specify short-circuit ratings, forms of separation, functional interlocks and testing protocols to meet project requirements and to ensure compliance with IEC 61439-1/2/3/6 and the IEC 60947 switching device standards.
