Noark Electric's Ex9 product family is positioned as a cost-optimized component line for IEC 61439 distribution and protection panels while retaining the core international compliance and performance characteristics required by panel builders and EPCs. The Ex9 moulded-case circuit breaker family covers rated currents (In) from 16 A up to 1600 A and offers both thermal-magnetic and electronic trip units with adjustable long-time, short-time and instantaneous protection. Typical short-circuit breaking capacities (Icu/Ics) are specified up to 50 kA at 400–415 VAC on selected frames (refer to the manufacturer datasheets for model-specific values), and designs are manufactured to meet IEC 60947-2 requirements for circuit-breaker performance. Ex9C contactors are supplied for motor and load switching duties with AC-1/AC-3 utilization categories and multiple coil voltages (AC and DC); these devices comply with IEC 60947-4-1 and include common accessories such as auxiliary contacts, mechanical interlocks, and electronic coil suppressors for panel integration. For panel builders assembling type-tested or partially type-tested switchgear under IEC 61439-1/2/3/6, Noark components are frequently selected when competitive project budgets demand cost efficiency without foregoing documented conformity. Ex9 breakers and Ex9C contactors integrate into mainstream low-voltage architectures — main distribution boards (MDB), automatic transfer switches (ATS), lighting distribution boards, power-factor-correction (PFC) banks and custom-engineered panels — alongside legacy and OEM systems such as Siemens SIVACON, ABB MNS and Schneider Electric Prisma Set. When used in type-tested assemblies, designers must follow IEC 61439 rules on distribution of clearances, creepage distances, and forms of separation (Form 1, 2a/2b, 3a/3b, 4a/4b) and demonstrate compliance with rated operational currents and short-circuit withstand via calculation or verification testing. Panel integration patterns include direct busbar mounting for Ex9 MCCBs, draw-out racking options, and use of electronic trip units with communication modules (Modbus/RS485) for energy monitoring and selective coordination. Typical panel accessories used with Noark components are shunt trips, undervoltage releases, padlocking handles, phase barriers and insulated busbar systems. While Noark Ex9 is principally intended for general industrial and commercial low-voltage panels, hazardous-area projects must use components certified to the IEC 60079 series or substitute suitably certified equivalents. For procurement and application, always review the specific product datasheet, certificate pack, and short-circuit tables so that the assembled switchgear meets IEC 61439 type-test or verification requirements.
