Noark Electric Custom Engineered Panel
Noark Electric components integrated into IEC 61439 custom engineered panel assemblies. Noark Electric delivers the Ex9 series moulded-case breakers and Ex9C contactors as competitively priced components for IEC 61439 distribution and protection panels.
The Noark Electric Custom Engineered Panel pairs Noark component families with IEC 61439-1/2-compliant assembly practices to deliver bespoke low-voltage distribution, motor control, and special-environment switchgear. Typical Noark components used in these assemblies include the Ex9 moulded-case circuit breaker (MCCB) family—rated from 16 A up to 1600 A with both thermal-magnetic and electronic trip units—and the Ex9C contactor line for AC-3 motor switching and auxiliary control. These devices are designed and certified to the relevant IEC 60947 sub-standards for low-voltage switchgear, and when integrated into a panel are verified under IEC 61439 verification regimes (type and routine tests) to ensure dielectric, temperature-rise, and short-circuit performance. Custom engineered panels with Noark components are used for distribution boards, motor control centers (MCCs), ATS/generator switchgear, and hazardous-area enclosures (marine and Ex/ATEX). Enclosure and protection options span IP20 through IP66 and include design adaptations for IEC 60079 hazardous-area requirements or maritime environmental classes. Form-of-separation options are selectable from Form 1 through Form 4b per IEC 61439; physical barriers, busbar segregation and finger-safe partitions are implemented to meet functional separation and operator safety requirements. Busbar systems are engineered for project-rated currents (typical busbar ratings up to 1600 A, parallel runs or increased cross-section for higher continuous currents) with mechanical and thermal sizing verified by calculation and test. Short-circuit withstand ratings are project-specific and depend on chosen Ex9 device breaking capacity, busbar design, and panel layout; verification testing per IEC 61439-1 (including short-circuit making and withstand where required) is performed to confirm SCCR. Integration and interoperability are designed to match industry modular systems such as Siemens SIVACON, ABB MNS and Schneider Prisma Set: mounting footprints, busbar tap arrangements and mounting rails are configurable to facilitate retrofit and hybrid assemblies. For motor control applications, Ex9 breakers with electronic trips can be combined with Ex9C contactors and thermal/solid-state overload elements to provide selectivity and motor protection per IEC 60947-4-x. Special features include custom HMIs, operator interfaces, remote communication modules (Modbus/TCP, Profinet), surge protection, and conditioned ingress/exhaust for marine or corrosive environments. All assemblies are supplied with verification files, type/routine test reports, coordination studies and component certificates to support commissioning and third-party inspection.
