The Schneider Electric Metering & Monitoring Panel is an IEC 61439-compliant metering assembly that integrates Schneider product families—Prisma Set type-tested switchboards, Masterpact MTZ and Compact NSX protection devices, TeSys contactors, Linergy busbar and connector systems, and PowerLogic metering/communication modules—into a single, factory-engineered solution for energy management and revenue-grade monitoring. Prisma Set provides a design-verified, type-tested platform (IEC 61439-2) with internal separation options (Forms 1 through 4b), IP protection classes up to IP55 depending on configuration, and continuous busbar ratings commonly available to 2500 A and upward; Prisma Set has published configurations to 4000 A in many installations. Linergy busbars and connectors deliver low-impedance distribution and mechanical flexibility for CT compartments and metering bays. Metering is based on Schneider PowerLogic-class instruments and compatible third-party revenue meters with Class 0.5S accuracy (IEC 62053-22) and multi-function power quality analysis. Metering bays accept CT-operated measurement for high-current feeders using IEC 61869-compliant instrument transformers (1 A or 5 A secondary), and meters can be configured for direct connection where ratings permit. Communication gateways (Modbus RTU/TCP, M-Bus, Ethernet and options for IEC 61850/ SNMP via EcoStruxure/Com’X gateways) enable AMR, SCADA and building-energy integration. Protection devices—Compact NSX (molded-case up to 630 A per IEC 60947-2) for distribution breakers and Masterpact MTZ for upstream power protection—offer selective coordination, trip unit telemetry and integrated metering capabilities. Short-circuit withstand and making capacities are defined by the chosen type-test and configuration; typical factory-assembled Prisma Set panels demonstrate Icw/Ipk ratings in the 50 kA–100 kA range depending on busbar size and fuse/breaker selection, but all panels should be validated against the manufacturer’s IEC 61439-1 type-test certificates and Annex F calculations. For hazardous area or external site installations, assemblies can be adapted to IEC 60079 requirements and higher enclosure ingress protection. Typical applications include utility metering rooms, tenant submetering, data center distribution, industrial plant energy monitoring, and centralised measurement cabinets for EPC projects.
