The Legrand Metering & Monitoring Panel is an IEC 61439-2 compliant low-voltage assembly engineered for revenue-grade energy measurement, multi-circuit monitoring and integration into building automation and utility AMR networks. The platform combines Legrand’s XL³ enclosure system with DPX3 and DRX moulded-case breakers, Viking terminal blocks and Legrand multi-function meters to deliver tested electrical performance, modularity and serviceability for commercial, industrial and sub-distribution applications. Enclosures and busbar kits are available for rated currents up to 2500 A (standard configuration) with heavy-duty busbar options and type-tested kits supporting up to 4000 A where required. Short-circuit withstand and breaking capacities are engineered to project needs (typical design points up to 50–65 kA Icw; consult project type-test report for exact values). Components retain IEC 60947 series compliance while assemblies are verified per IEC 61439-1/-2 type and routine test regimes (temperature-rise, dielectric, short-circuit withstand and verification of clearances/creepage). Metering functionality supports revenue-grade Class 0.5S accuracy meters and Class 1.0 options, CT-operated measurement for high-current feeders, and Rogowski or split-core CT integration for retrofit installations. Multi-function meters provide kWh, kVARh, harmonic analysis and THD measurement for power quality compliance; communications include Modbus RTU/TCP, M‑Bus and Ethernet gateways for SCADA/BMS connectivity. Panels are designed for multiple forms of separation (Form 1 through Form 4b options) to segregate metering, service and LV switchgear compartments in accordance with IEC 61439 guidance on internal separation and accessibility. If projects require comparison to other OEM platforms, Legrand assemblies are functionally similar to Siemens SIVACON, ABB MNS or Schneider Electric Prisma Set solutions but optimized for Legrand’s XL³ footprint and DPX3/DRX switching devices. Installation features include pre-configured meter sockets, CT/VT mounting rails, Viking terminal blocks for reliable measurement wiring, dedicated meter cubicles with lockable doors and IP protection options from IP31 up to IP42 (higher IP ratings or custom outdoor housings available on request). Optional features include internal arc mitigation design, bolted and insulated busbar segregation, remote gateway modules for Modbus TCP/IEC 61850 translation, and factory type-test dossiers for acceptance by utilities and EPCs. Typical applications include tenant billing and sub‑metering in commercial buildings, data center feed monitoring, industrial sub-distribution metering, and feeder-level power quality monitoring for utilities and solar/BESS installations.
