The Siemens Custom Engineered Panel is a project-specific IEC 61439-compliant assembly that integrates Siemens low-voltage switchgear, protection and automation families into bespoke panel layouts for main distribution, motor control centres (MCC), process skids and hazardous-area installations. Core Siemens elements used in these assemblies include the SIVACON S8 type-tested switchboard system (type-tested verification up to 7400 A busbars), 3VA/3WA molded-case and air circuit breaker families (IEC 60947-2 compliant), SIRIUS contactors and soft starters for motor switching, SIMOCODE motor management units, SENTRON measuring and power quality devices (PAC series) and SIMATIC HMI/PLC interfaces for operator control and remote telemetry. These components enable panels that meet IEC 61439-1/-2 verification or full type-test requirements, while allowing tailored rated currents and short-circuit capabilities per project design.Verification and safety features are implemented per IEC 61439 forms of separation (Form 1 through Form 4b), with compartmentalised busways, draw-out breaker cells, and bolted or insulated busbar designs to achieve required internal separation and live-part accessibility. Rated voltage can be specified up to 1000 V AC; rated current and short-circuit withstand are project-specific and derived from busbar sizing, device Icu/Ics (per IEC 60947-2), and assembly verification testing. Typical IP protection ranges from IP20 for indoor switchgear to IP66 for washdown or outdoor enclosures (IEC 60529), and hazardous-area adaptations follow IEC 60079 requirements for Ex-certified equipment and gland/segregation design.Motor control and integration workflows leverage SIRIUS contactors and SIMOCODE for short-circuit protection, thermal protection and starter logic, while SINAMICS drive integration supports variable-speed motor control with coordinated protection and selective fault-clearing. SENTRON PAC measuring relays and energy meters provide local and networked metering for power quality, load logging and alarm functions via PROFINET/Ethernet. For marine or offshore projects, components and fabrication meet relevant classification society rules (DNV/ABS) on request. Factory acceptance testing (FAT), site testing and documentation bundles are supplied per IEC 61439 clause requirements, including routine and type test records, wiring schematics, 3D layouts, and coordination studies.
