Custom Engineered Panel for Commercial Buildings

IEC 61439 custom engineered panel assemblies engineered for commercial buildings applications. IEC 61439 compliant panel assemblies for offices, retail complexes, hotels, and mixed-use commercial developments requiring reliable power distribution and energy management.

Custom Engineered Panel for Commercial Buildings

Custom Engineered Panel for Commercial Buildings are IEC 61439-compliant low-voltage switchgear assemblies designed to meet the mixed-load, aesthetic, and code-driven requirements of offices, retail complexes, hotels and mixed-use developments. These bespoke assemblies combine main distribution boards (MDB), sub-distribution boards (SDB), final power/lighting panels (FPDB), ATS/generator paralleling modules and UPS output distribution into a single engineered lineup. Typical product references used as benchmarks in specifications include Siemens SIVACON, ABB MNS and Schneider Electric Prisma SeT families; breakers and ACBs such as Schneider Masterpact and ABB Emax are commonly integrated. Panels are engineered per IEC 61439-1/2 with coordination to IEC 60947 series for switchgear and IEC 60529 for IP ratings, while hazardous-area variants comply with IEC 60079 and marine variants meet DNV/ABS class rules. Design targets include rated voltages up to 1000 V AC, project-specific rated currents from 63 A to 4000 A for mains and 0.5 A–1600 A for sub-distribution, and short-circuit ratings selectable from 25 kA to 100 kA (1 s) or higher depending on busbar cross-section and ACB SCCR; making capacities up to 200 kA peak can be specified where required. Forms of separation are implemented per IEC 61439 (Form 1 through Form 4b) to achieve the required segregation between busbars, functional units and cableways—enabling safe live working and selective maintenance. Temperature-rise and dielectric routine/type testing, short-circuit withstand verification, IP verification and functional verification are executed according to IEC 61439 test regimes. Commercial installations require specific features: multi-function integration (lighting, HVAC, BMS power, EV charging circuits, elevator supply), selective coordination/discrimination studies (based on IEC 60947-2 curves), harmonics mitigation (detuned/active filters for UPS-heavy loads), and advanced metering/power quality monitoring (Class A/IEC 62053-22 meters, PQ analyzers). Communications and building integration use Modbus TCP/RTU, BACnet, LonWorks and, where applicable, IEC 61850 gateway modules for campus-level integration. Environmental and operational considerations include IP20 to IP66 enclosures for indoor, rooftop or street-side plant rooms; ATEX-certified components for on-site hazardous atmospheres; and stainless or coated steel enclosures with C5M corrosion protection for coastal projects. Earthing arrangements (TN-S, TN-C-S, TT or IT) and fault-loop calculations are integrated into the panel design and labelling. Custom HMIs, remote I/O, color touchscreen operator panels and local mimic diagrams are standard options to meet tenant and facility-manager operational needs. Patrion engineering services provide full shop drawings, short-circuit and selective coordination reports, type/routine testing documentation and factory acceptance testing to ensure the assembly performs reliably across the building lifecycle.
